Tyler Webb
Patent Attorney - Partner
With nearly 20 years of experience in intellectual property law, Tyler (Ty) Webb focuses his practice primarily on patent prosecution, complex legal opinions, and strategic IP counseling. As a partner, Ty brings invaluable experience managing extensive patent portfolios for various multi-national companies, particularly within the highly specialized area of medical imaging.
His technical expertise spans both the electrical and mechanical arts. Ty has a proven track record of drafting and prosecuting applications—and securing robust patents—for mechanical devices, digital signal processing, computer interfaces, and thermal management designs. Within his core focus of medical imaging, he regularly works with ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies, rendering critical legal opinions and guiding clients through complex IP landscapes. His strategic approach to prosecution is further strengthened by his past experience in both patent and trademark litigation.
Prior to joining Lempia Summerfield Katz, Ty was an associate with a large, well respected IP firm in Chicago. Prior to that, he served as a law clerk for two firms and as a summer associate.
Non-Legal Experience
Ty began his career as a research intern for Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio. He has also worked for Dell, Inc. and Applied Research Laboratories in Austin, Texas.
