Maya Yusim secures patent protection in a variety of engineering fields, primary in the fields of electronics and software. Maya’s areas of expertise include wireless communication systems, networking technologies, computer interface, electronic commerce, and artificial intelligence. Maya’s strong technical background, years of work as an electrical engineer, and extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications allow Maya to quickly understand clients’ technologies and obtain strong patents to protect their intellectual property rights.
Maya began her patent law career as a technical specialist at a well-respected Chicago IP boutique firm. Prior to joining Lempia Summerfield Katz, Maya worked for eight years as a patent agent at a Chicago office of a large, multi-national law firm.
Non-Legal Experience
During college, Maya served as a research assistant at the University of Illinois’s Center for Computational Electromagnetics, where she developed software for calculation and display of electromagnetic scattering patterns, as well as antenna radiation fields for a variety of antenna configurations.
Prior to her patent law career, Maya was a senior electrical engineer at Northrop Grumman, where she designed and implemented communication systems for airborne radar applications.
