Justin is a seasoned patent attorney with over a decade of experience guiding Fortune 500 companies and international clients through complex intellectual property matters. His practice encompasses all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution, with a specialized focus on electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical innovations, particularly semiconductors, thin films, laser and optics, Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS), and advanced displays (OLED, LCD, LED).

In addition to drafting high-quality patent applications and navigating complex Office Actions, Justin provides crucial strategic guidance. He has extensive experience rendering freedom-to-operate, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions, performing patentability searches, and drafting PTAB appeal briefs. His comprehensive approach involves close collaboration with in-house counsel and foreign associates to secure and enforce patent rights globally.

Non-Legal Experience

Prior to his legal career, Justin spent nearly a decade as a Research Scientist and Engineer specializing in Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) and bio-MEMS technologies. His pioneering laboratory work focused on designing, fabricating, and testing advanced micro-actuators and micro-robotics. Specifically, he developed sophisticated fabrication processes for polymer-based micro-actuators used in autonomous micro-valves and precision embryo cell-sorting systems. Furthermore, Justin led cutting-edge research in bio-hybrid systems, utilizing soft lithography and specialized fabrication techniques to create 3D micro-robots and micro-cantilevers actuated by living cardiac muscle cells.
